What You Can Do and FAQs
The ordinance to change the pouring times was introduced by Commissioner Rader at the September 25, 2007, Board of Commissioners meeting and was deferred to the November 13, 2007, meeting.  In response to the CEO's draft resolution of imposing a license surcharge on new establishments, Commissioner Rader put forth an alternative proposal (see below).  We would appreciate any support which you and your groups may be able to provide: emails, circulating copies of a petition and either scanning/emailing it back or faxing it back to us (404-371-7004). I am looking for additional community contacts countywide to get the word out and garner support. If you are willing, please forward contacts, church leadership, MADD, or any group which you think is interested in the quality of life in DeKalb County. We will need to turn out a crowd at the November 13, 2007, BOC meeting.

Should you have questions, please email or call me (404-371-3054). Thanks in advance for your support.

UPDATE:  Commissioner Burrell Ellis put forth a substitute ordinance that would rollback the end pouring time to 2:30 am and grandfather-in businesses that existed prior to 2005.  This ordinance was passed by a vote of 4 to 3 but was later vetoed by CEO Vernon Jones.
