Construction Projects.
Work is 40% complete with the new sidewalk on Dresden Drive, from Plaza Fiesta to Buford Highway, on the south side; it should be completed by end of June.
Roads & Drainage crews completed the new sidewalk on Fair Oaks Road from Oak Grove to Timberland.
Buford Highway sidewalks and safety improvements, from Shallowford Terrace to I-285; the right-of-way acquisition process is also almost completed; we have secured all but 3 of the 110 parcels needed for sidewalk installation; there is one last condemnation that will be on the May 24 or June 14 Board agenda; then final plans will be submitted to the DOT to bid in August 2005.
The 2nd Quarter 2005 Storm Water Utility critical projects list has 5 of the 50 projects completed through end of April. There have been several large emergency repairs as a result of some of the heavy Spring rains
DeKalb Industrial Way (20% complete). The largest project in this quarter's program, a replacement box culvert for Nesbitt Drive, is about 15% complete, on schedule for being finished in late June. |
